We recently hired Peter to upgrade our main bath and were impressed from the start with his professionalism, communication style, and attention to detail. Peter advised us every step of the way, respecting and accommodating our preferences while offering sound experience-based advice that helped us make good design decisions and still remain within our budget. Once the renovation started, we were amazed at the extremely high level of cleanliness, efficiency, and organization exhibited by Peter and Nick while they demolished our bathroom with a minimum of dust and disruption - what a hard-working team! We are very happy with our new bathroom and would not hesitate to recommend Aquata to anyone. We will be calling Peter again.
If you’re looking for a great bathroom renovator, AQUATA BATHROOM renovators is the company for you! We hired Peter at AQUATA for our Master Bathroom Reno. After a thorough search we were able to find Peter‘s company on HomeStars. Peter is a very skilled and talented professional who is friendly, organized and considerate. He is a highly skilled professional with great attention to detail and his quality of work second to none. As part of our bathroom design Peter was able to use his innovative abilities to create a curbless shower that is not only beautiful but very functional. Other contractors that we interviewed were unable to master the skills necessary to provide the pre-slope design and unique engineering necessary that Peter possesses. Also important to us was the fact that Peter was able to answer all our questions and phone calls in a quick and timely fashion as well as keeping us up-to-date as the job was going on and stuck to his commitments. He was able to stay on schedule and on budget. He has a steady work ethic and takes the time to clean up the work site on a daily basis. As we look at our completed beautiful bathroom , we are so glad we made the right choice to choose Peter at AQUATA. I highly recommend Peter and his company “AQUATA Bathroom Renovator” for any bathroom renovations big or small without hesitation.
Aquata Review 2020. For those of you who are skeptical about a lot of 10/10 reviews, please read this one. Three or so years ago when we interviewed Peter for our bath Reno (Queen), he had a lot of 10/10’s. At the conclusion of the interview, during which we had been very impressed, I challenged Peter on this point. I said “nobody in the real world gets 10/10 all the time... what’s up with that?” For all the skeptics, I will say three years later that there was only one thing about hiring Peter and executing the project that I regret. It is not posting a 10/10 review for Peter that he and his team so deserved. I drafted three different reviews and posted none of them because they all sounded like an exaggerated story. Sadly, none of them got posted but that gives me a chance to do a review of what it’s like to live with Peter’s product every day for three years. It brings joy! It’s reasonable to expect competence when you hire a contractor. After three years of daily use by two of us, the quality and durability of Peter’s work is evident. It isn’t competence alone that has brought me daily enjoyment. It is, for example, the recollection of how thoughtful Peter was when installing the tile in the room. I admire frequently how he paid attention to small details that made the difference between competent and masterful. While some contractors might have seen a more finicky tile as a headache, Peter saw the vision and took the time to perfectly place the tiles, the lines and edges and cuts to create a finish that he could be proud of in any old world country where pride of craftsmanship is honoured. I especially respect that because tile is completed near the end of a project at a time when some would be tired and anxious to move on to the next project. Like any project, Peter had already dealt with unforeseen challenges due to the characteristics of our building. It wasn’t that the project proceeded perfectly smoothly.. it was that Peter took in stride every surprise and came with a solution. We had a lot riding on it, because its the only bathroom we have and we were worried about things going sideways. In fact, the very first morning after we turned the job site over to Peter, I was on my way to a meeting and got a call. Peter had encountered our first surprise, something that was clearly outside the scope of work for Peter, and that none of us could have foreseen. As he explained it, my heart sank but I had to tell him that I was due in a three hour meeting immediately. Peter said “Leave it to me”. When I checked in three hours later, he had come up with two alternate solutions, and had chosen a path that allowed him to proceed with other work and avoid a painful delay. He also treated that surprise and every other incident that followed with exactly what I would expect knowing how big projects are well managed. He was always factual, respectful, creative and fair in resolving every inevitable project issue. I learned that first day that when Peter asks you to trust him and leave the site in his capable hands, you should do yourself a favour and do exactly that! On pretty much every scoring criteria, Peter and his great team won the day. He was not the lowest bid, but he was close and better than most. He scoped out our dependence on the room and estimated the shortest schedule to completion and then he met it. I had confidence that if anything came up (and I’ve never seen a project where it didn’t) I could look forward to a reasoned and sensible discussion with Peter. This is everything you can expect and hope for from a professional. Now with the passage of time, I can add some additional criteria that you may not always hear about... the quality of Peter’s work absolutely stands the test of time. By now, I should be seeing the two or three little problems that were never properly resolved, or be bothered by the one thing that the builder promised would be done later but was never done because they had moved onto the next project. There has been NONE of that. Instead, I am left admiring the result and feeling happy to let my eyes roam the room, seeing only inspiration and admiration for quality. That brings me back to the beginning. There was only one thing left undone, and that was our review. We haven’t had any contact with Peter since the project was completed, so in hopes that late is better than never, and with fond memories I will say to all of you skeptics that this skeptic is happy to give Peter a solid 10 out of 10. Peter, you earned it. Hire him!
I initially contacted Peter 2 years ago. He was extremely busy and asked me to contact him again when he was free. The reason I chose Peter to do the job was because he was knowledgable with linear drains. We did run into some problems due to the builder of the house being lazy, and cutting corners. Peter solved the plumbing problems, so i could install a floating vanity. Peter also has the ability to cut oversized tile and he invested $800 in a machine to cut my oversized tile. Peter can also get you a trade discount through some of the popular tile stores in the Greater Toronto Area. Peter and Nick did a great job.
Peter did our master bath almost ten years ago. We were so pleased with him and the job, we had him return to renovate our kids' bathroom. Peter gave us a thorough quote, project timeline and recommendations on where to source fixtures, tiles, etc. He started the job on time, and finished it on time. In between, he and his helpers arrived on time and minimized construction mess by sealing up the bathroom door with a plastic zippered door and protecting our staircase, sweeping up at the end of each day. Now our kids have a beautiful, modern bathroom. Peter even offered to come back to repair any nicks made in drywall when the shower glass guys came to install the glass panel. We would highly recommend his company for a bathroom reno.
We had Aquata come to quote us for two bathrooms renos. We wanted a complete gut and redesign. From our first meeting with Peter, we knew we were going to hire him. He was on time, knowledgeable and reasonably priced compared to the other contractors that came to give us quotes. Peter recommended us to his suppliers where he had a trade account set up and he let us use his accounts. We went to many bathroom stores before deciding that our bathrooms needed to be completed and we are very aware of the price points on these fixtures and the savings we experienced by using Peter’s accounts were quite significant. When the job started, they were at our house every single day and were absolutely meticulous from start to finish. The work zone was always clean and safe, which was important for us with our kids and dog old running around the house. I have never seen a more organized tool kit in my life. We have worked with many contractors in our past homes, and Peter was by far the best. The end product was exactly what we were looking for. Thank you so much Peter! We'll definitely be calling again for our bathroom and plumbing needs!
Peter and Nick are the dynamic duo. They are professional, courteous, detail oriented with a "can do" attitude. We were so impressed with the quality workmanship and cleanliness of the previous bathroom renovations in our main bathroom and guest bathroom, we trust no one else to do our master bathroom. Aquata Bath delighted us again with the bathroom transformation. Peter is a strong communicator and keeps you looped in step by step so you know what is happening and discussed options with you for any unanticipated things along the way (eg., uneven floors). We appreciate that all our hardwood floors were covered up and protected, stairs were covered, and dust covers were placed to protect our furniture and chandelier. Every day the workplace was vacuum and floors were swept to keep the common areas clean. Thank you for giving us our dream spa bathroom gentlemen! Regards, Sue and Mike
Peter truly did deliver our vision of the perfect bathroom! Twice! We found ourselves in need of fixing both of our 18 year old bathrooms due to bad original plumbing and tile work. We had leaks in just about every drain and a leaking mud pan in both the walk in showers. Our laundry room also had a leak. We decided to completely gut the bathrooms and start over. We also had Peter redo the laundry room plumbing and fix the ceiling under the bathrooms where all the leaks had happened over the years. From the first interview everything Peter said would happen, did. Very rare these days! He took great care to protect our house and stairs, which at first I thought was overkill, but so many times in construction I was so grateful for the extra protection. We stayed in the house through the construction. We have five children and two dogs. Not once did I have to worry about their safety. Every night the construction areas and stairs were cleaned and every thing neatly put away. Nick was always very thorough. Everyday Peter and Nick showed up to our job. They worked straight through so the work got done as fast as possible. I felt completely comfortable leaving them in the house to work , and on many occasions left Peter to lock up the house for the weekend. He treated our home like it was his own in every way! Surprises came up often as we started opening walls. Peter communicated the problem very clearly and was willing to take the time to come to the best solution not just hack a quick fix. To say I am a perfectionist is an understatement! I have to say Peter’s tile work is second to none. Everything is perfectly level and the cuts are clean! His attention to detail in every part of the renovation was amazing. He took the same care with the work behind the walls as with the finish materials. Lastly, Peter does or oversees all the work. There is no guess work as to what subcontractors you might get. This was the main reason we went with Peter. We have had some bad experiences in the past of contractors passing the blame and things never getting fixed. We are very happy we entrusted Peter with this investment in our home! Look at pictures! The bathrooms are truly beautiful!
This review is for a main floor bathroom that Peter built us in June of this year. It was originally scheduled for April but was delayed due to Covid. The purpose of this reno for us, was to correct mistakes we had made when we previously renovated the bathroom 16 years earlier. So the plan was a better budget, better craftmanship, better products and design. This meant getting rid of the tub and going with a walk-in shower with built-in bench, linear drain with no curb, and removing the bulkhead above the shower area to have full ceiling height, a custom vanity, undermount sink, high-end fixtures, huge medicine cabinet etc. This also meant hiring Peter to do the job. We chose Peter from Aquata because he seems like a very conscientious person with a vast knowledge of his chosen specialty. I really liked the fact that he moves his tools into the house during the reno. I thought, not only is that brilliant from a speed aspect, but that’s a guy who will show up everyday and get the job done when his tools are sitting in your house. Peter, along with his very skilled assistant Nick, showed up every day with a plan. And every day they executed that plan. Renos are not without their unexpected challenges, and this project had a few. But Peter’s vast experience and ability rose to every challenge. When a challenge did arise, he would provide options and a game plan for each option. The site was always left clean at the end of the day, and any/all debris was taken away from the property the same day it was removed. I felt like we were in the most capable hands throughout the project. Quite simply, Peter builds next-level bathrooms. We’ve lived with the new bathroom now for many months, and every time I walk into the room, I see attention to detail and perfection. It is so nice to walk into a renovated space where you have spent considerable money and say “that was worth every penny”. If we ever find ourselves wanting or needing an additional bathroom renovated in the future, there would be no hesitation in hiring Peter again. Tim and Jodi Chisholm
I had been putting off a bathroom refresh for a while. I spoke with Peter at Aquata about the project and though his idea/suggestions were great - he was able to refresh the bathroom with updated tile and finishings at a reasonable cost. Project was done timely with no mess. I have already recommended them twice and would have no hesitation in doing so again.
We wanted to renovate both our master and kids bathrooms. Peter was a Godsend! He held our hand through it all and made what we thought would be an arduous process, a fun and pain free experience. He turned our tired looking eighties haunted bathroom into a modern spa and our kids love theirs! His attention to detail and his cleanliness are impeccable. He is very reasonable and I would highly recommend him for any kitchen or bathroom renovation.
Peter and his crew did an amazing job on our bathroom. We expected a quality job since he was referred to us by a friend. But from the moment we met him we felt that all the best options and possibility were made available to us. When the job was done we were surprised how much he exceeded our expectations. From the way he protected the job site from dust to the way his grout lines line up with laser perdition. We love our new bathroom its now the best part of our house.
Think of a contractor you've hired who actually did the job they said they'd do, in the time they said it would take for the price they quoted you. Tough, huh? That's why Peter is a rare example of a contractor. He's talented, punctual, organized and fairly priced. The pride he takes in his work, including top-notch tiling and first rate shower installation, is evident at every turn.
He's conscientious to an extraordinary degree, and finds ultimate satisfaction in the satisfaction of his clients. Even as our house was turned upside down during the renovation of 2 bathrooms and the installation of new lighting in every room, Peter and his assistant's unwavering professionalism made it all seem like no big deal. The fact that they kept their job site impeccably clean and tidy might have had something to do with it...Would I hire him again? I would, and will. Even if I have to fight you for him.
I would highly recommend Aquata for your bathroom renovation project. Peter, Owner of Aquata, has a great eye for design and detail. He also has top quality workmanship using the highest quality materials such as Schluter systems in the shower. We were particularly pleased with the way he kept our home clean and liveable throughout the process. I am sure you will be pleasantly delighted with his work as well.
Peter, who owns Aquatabath, is a lavatory renaissance man, a polymath of the WC, a sage of the privy. He is a throwback to an old school craftsman, combined with the latest tech and herculean abilities. He loves what he does and it shows in his work. He prides himself on detail and is up on all the latest trade methods. He explains what and why he is doing things a particular way and inevitably it is to ensure high standards and artistry.
We had a total renovation done on our bathroom and could not be happier. He and his staff were timely, clean, professional, and the best priced. Peter worked with us to get the look we wanted and helped us with his vast expertise. We highly recommend Aquatabath.
We've worked with Peter on several projects over the past few years, including some that have gone beyond his usual focus, bathrooms. The quality of his work, his time management and his overall professionalism has been consistently first rate. He is personally invested in each project, and will see it through until you're every bit as satisfied as he is. As I've said on this site before, I would recommend Peter, his team and his work without hesitation. My only concern in endorsing him is that it he might not be available the next time I call!
Peter went above and beyond our expectations. We had met with no fewer than 4 contractors and we just knew after meeting Peter that he was honest and trustworthy. He did not let us down and his cleanliness, workmanship and high standards were evident every single day he was in our home. He guided us through the process, talked to us calmly when something needed to be reconfigured and the final product is simply stunning. Thank you Peter and Evan for making this such a positive experience and we know without a doubt that we will use your services again one day soon!
This was the 4th renovation project that we were using Peter from Aquata. As usual, Peter was a pleasure to deal with: very friendly and professional. We booked our bathroom renovation several months in advance so that demolition happens while we were on vacation and Peter was able to accommodate this specific schedule.
He also took great care in keeping everything organized and the house as dust free as possible since the kids bedrooms were adjacent to the bathroom under construction. Peter takes pride in his work and goes the extra mile to ensure every detail is perfect and that you are satisfied with the end product.
This was another successful project completed on time and under the budget specified. We are sure to shortlist Peter from Aquata for any other project we may have in the future.
We found Aquata on Home Star. We were very impressed by the quality of work and the professionalism exhibited by Peter and his team. The work involved complete renovation of our 2 bathrooms. Peter was very well organized and the work began in a timely manner. Every aspect of their work was highly professional and courteous. We were consulted throughout the process to ensure that the work was being completed to our satisfaction. The end result was spectacular, with each detail impeccably done. We do not hesitate to recommend Peter/Aquata for your renovation project and will be certain to employ their expertise again when we undertake future projects. Thank you Peter! From Teresa & Vincent.

After our bathroom renovation project was completed, we discovered that one of the shower fixtures was not working as intended (manufacturer-related issue). We contacted Peter and he responded immediately with suggestions. He then come back to reinstall the new fixture which we received from the manufacturer and the issue was resolved within a few days. We would like to thank Peter for his excellent customer service and quality workmanship.
Working with Aquata was a great pleasure, very easy and straightforward. Peter was very nice to deal with and always took time to explain in details everything he does and to walk us through our project and answer any questions we had. He is very transparent and honest and this played a key factor in deciding to work with him. The project start was delayed from the original date due to the job before us (and no fault from Aquata at all) and Peter was always concerned to make sure we were taken care even before the job started!
Our reno started and finished on the new revised dates and everything went smooth. Peter's recommendations regarding suppliers for fixtures and tiles were also very good and we are very happy to have used them. They kept the work area clean and tidy at the end of each day of work. In other words, great work ethics, integrity, and professionalism. I would say to you who is reading this review not to bother with more quotes. Go with Aquata! You will not regret it. I recommend Aquata to anyone and will be using them again in the near future for another bathroom renovation.
After meeting 7 contractors, we hired Peter to renovate our master bathroom/bedroom. We loved that he took the time to explain his process for doing the job, how he might resolve potential issues and so on. His quote also provided a detailed breakdown so you could really understand what you're paying for.
Peter and his team were always punctual and showed up to work everyday as planned. Peter took care to ensure our house remained livable with two very young kids. Peter and his team cleaned up after themselves daily and also took as many precautions as possible to prevent dust and debris from spreading around our home.
We bought our materials from the places Peter recommended and found the staff willing and helpful. The bathroom fixtures were taken up via three sets of stairs leading to the bedroom. This was tough since it's a townhouse and we don't have the luxury of wide stairs but not one scratch or dent was made on either the fixtures or the walls.
Peter has a eye for design and detail and we could not have been happier with how our bathroom turned out. It is much more beautiful than we imagined! Peter also provided his perspective where my hubby and I didn't see eye to eye on how certain things should be and he also allowed us to provide input at every step of the way so that we would be happy with the results. We had input from alignment of the fixtures to grout colour. We will definitely recommend Peter and his team to all our neighbours and friends.
Peter and his crew from Aquata recently did a complete renovation of our master bathroom. The end result is amazing! Peter is a true craftsman and meticulous in his work. He was organized and efficient from beginning to end and went to great pains to minimize the impact of the reno on the rest of the house.
Peter also made sure I was kept informed of progress and made aware of any issues that arose during construction. He was always available to answer questions and upfront with all costs involved.
Needless to say, I would not hesitate to recommend Peter and fully intend to make use of his services to renovate our second bathroom soon. Thanks Peter!
We got Aquata to do our main bathroom. This company embodies professionalism, timeliness, honesty and integrity. Everything Peter told us, worked out exactly as he said. The bathroom came out looking stunning and my wife and me love it. They did it on budget, on time and in an extremely neat manner. We have a small baby so being clean was one of the most important things to us and they delievered. Will recommend them to everyone!
Peter and Evan worked diligently on giving us two new bathrooms just before 2016 xmas. The main bathroom and a guest bathroom have been transformed to two beautiful, elegant and modern bathrooms. The attention to detail and workmanship is perfection, with very careful planning involving us in each step of the way. We love our new bathrooms. Thanks so much guys! Highly recommend this team.
Peter and his team transformed the two bathrooms in our condo into beautiful and modern ones. All the work was of the highest quality with exceptional attention to detail. Peter made sure to get our input each step of the way and accommodated all of our requests. He was also able to set us up with great suppliers for fixtures and tiles (with a large discount as well).
The job was completed on time and in a neat matter, with Peter making sure to minimize the impact of his work on the condo and allow us to live comfortably during the renovation. He was extremely organized and always responsive to all our questions. I would highly recommend him and his team to everyone!
